Problems and challenges
➤Feeding 50,000 people per day isn’t done easily, the main issue being funds. Currently as a team of 20, we are striving to feed 1000 people per day from our only counter and help about 200 with clothes and medicines per month. The average cost that we are paying per month is about Rs. 10,00,000. The trustees are shouldering this huge responsibility unquestioningly and dedicatedly but also are cognizant of the fact that this practice is not sustainable.
➤Plantations and growing of trees in the city requires good quality soil, sufficient water and proper care in the initial phases. To ensure healthy growth of the trees, we need to nurture them with consistent care and nourishment to all saplings planted and seeds sown. In due consideration in this regard, we need more people to volunteer wholeheartedly and impartially to this service. We hope all likeminded people will come forth and extend their support to this community rebuilding crusade without having to resort to advertising gimmicks which could unwillingly increase the cost of the mission.
➤Income Tax (80G): Many of us at some point in our lives have contemplated being charitable and giving back to the society, some of us have found the path and some are still seeking one. It is immensely satisfying to support another person and sharing some of your fortunes with them. It would not dent your riches but it would be a meaningful contribution and make a sizeable difference to another’s life. Given the nobility of this gesture, the government extends its full support towards charitable services. Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act allows you tax deduction on donations made to any charitable organisation. Till now, we are not able to accept any donations from corporates and other donors because our organisation is not yet exempted from Income Tax under 80G because of our certain parameters that we are currently working on. We, humbly, request the responsible authorities to upgrade our status soon, making us eligible to accept donations under this income tax exemption facility which will also enable us to issue 80G certificates to corporates and donors.
